OASIS :: FINAL STAGES!
After 2.5 months of hard labor, I think I'm finally getting down to the final stages. I did 9 hours of sound design over the weekend, and am working with my composer, Julie Assaf to do the final musical touches. Recordings with percussionist DOMI from CalArts was well worth 2.5 hours in the Percussion Room.
A silent preview can be seen here. The resolution of the film was done in HD [1080p] using After Effects; sound was done in Protools [48 - kHz, 16 - bit].

This is my second film, and my first time using digital painting as the medium--it was a task that was enjoyable to endure. It was also training and practice. :]
The following images are not in order. Some of these are are the preliminary color tests and tones. The water ones are the final scenic shots. Yay!

Wondering why I've been suuuupppeerrr busy?? I changed my First Year Short! ...How terribly predictable. I hate this quality that I have, because it's against my personality, but at the same time, the newest thing always turns out to be the better outcome. So, I go with it--gut feeling.
This story is more simple: This is a painterly story about a man’s [unfortunate] journey in the desert—a metaphor to life. His desire is for water, a lush sustenance, vital to all living things. The hyper-real visuals will lure us into a continuous flow of the world that is, and the world that is desired. In the end, is there really much of a difference?

Wow. Haven't posted in forever...past two months have been crazzzyyy. Let you know why in a second.
This is back in Valencia. We did go back to Manila after Xia Men, and there were tons of pictures after that [previous post] but I'll get them all up one day on a good, free site that can support more than 200 photos at a time...
GRIFFITH OBSERVATORY!!! Thinking of doing a matte painting of this... Too bad the Zeith Telescope closed...it got too cloudy. Mars couldn't even be seen.
Took these with my 5-year-old Minolta 3.2 pixel--still works~!
